The Best Place

Our family has visited and lived in SO many places in the past few years:

Toronto, ON

British Columbia

Three Rivers, MI

Sioux Center, IA

Terra Ceia, NC

Oak Harbor, WA

Southern California

and probably more that we are forgetting!

Micah's job this week was to write a persuasive paragraph. Everyone in our family wrote their own persuasive paragraph about "the best place." What do you think is the best place? Which paragraph is the most persuasive?

Let us know in the comments or send Rachel an email!

Now, for the persuasive paragraphs...

1. Micah: Toronto, Ontario

Toronto is the best place. There are lots of tall buildings and trees. They have the coolest science museum. Almost all my cousins live there. It's a perfect city!

2.    Eli: Florida

Florida is the best place. It has a beach and I won't need to be all bundled up for winter. I also want to watch races. I would like to live there when I grow up.

3.    Rachel: British Columbia

I think British Columbia is the best place. It has beaches and mountains, warm weather and snow! Our friend Evita has an amazing farm that we can visit while we are there. In the summer you can get all kinds of fresh fruits and vegetables from roadside stands. British Columbia is very beautiful!

4. Olivia: Sioux Center, Iowa

Sioux Center is the best place. I like to go to the Siouxnami water park to swim and eat snacks. Grandpa and Gramma live there, and so do Benji, Uncle David, Auntie Missy, Ethan, and Callie. But I don't like the Dordt prairie, because there's so many leaves and bugs. (But Eli likes the prairie because of the bugs.)

5.    Tim: Southern California

Southern California is definitely the best place! For one thing, Mommy was born there. I love to play at the beaches with my family. And the weather is always perfect: 72 degrees and sunny. That's why Southern California is better than any other place.

Comments

  1. Gramma votes for Olivia. I also think Sioux Center is the best place. It has lots of nice people, and not a lot of traffic. It has a lot of pretty places to go, like Sandy Hollow and Oak Grove. It has beautiful snow in the winter and the prettiest bright blue skies with puffy white clouds. Sioux Center is the best!

  2. Auntie Ingrid votes for Micah and Toronto.
Toronto is an amazing city with lots of immigrants from different countries and backgrounds which results in wonderful unique neighbourhoods and amazing authentic restaurants and yearly festivals.
Toronto has its 4 major sport teams: Maple Leafs (hockey), Raptors (basketball), Toronto FC (Major League Soccer) and Blue Jays (Baseball) so if you like sports there are lots of options.
The city has many museums and of course the famous CN Tower and Ripley's Aquarium.
The city has beautiful beaches on Lake Ontario and a wonderful skyline lit up at night which you can enjoy on a dinner cruise.
Toronto is only 1 hour drive from Niagara Falls and quaint Niagara on the Lake area with its many award winning wineries and the Great Wolf Lodge for families to enjoy.
It is also a few hours drive from Algonquin National Park with its moose, beavers, bears and wolves, many lakes and trails.
... and of course... It is only 1 hour drive from Uncle Pete, Auntie Ingrid and Kona... xoxo
